Surgical Services is designed to meet the dynamic and complex needs of
pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients requiring surgical
interventions. The department is functionally separate from other hospital
units and is staffed and equipped with the necessary specialized equipment
to meet the needs of the surgical patients. The hospital's surgery
team performs nearly 500 procedures each month.
The five areas of service that make up the Surgical Services Department
are surgery, pre-admission testing (PAT),outpatient surgery, post-anesthesia
care unit (recovery room), endoscopy and central sterile supply.
With six operating suites, the types of surgery provided are:
- Plastic and cosmetic surgery
- Ear, nose and throat (ENT)
- Robotic Surgery
There are 6 OR suites in the surgery department. The post-anesthesia care
unit (recovery room) is a 12-bed unit that recovers not only post-surgical
patients, but also patients from special procedures. Gastrointestinal
endoscopy procedures are performed in the GI Lab. Central Sterile Supply
cleans, disinfects and sterilizes instruments and equipment for surgery
and all other hospital departments.
Hours of Operation
Monday through Friday, from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
After regular working hours and on Saturdays, Sundays and holidays, the
Surgical Services Department is covered by staff assigned on a stand-by
status. There is a cardiac surgical team available 24 hours a day, seven
days a week.
