Bridges for Families

Bridges for Families, sponsored by St. Mary Medical Center’s Community Health Department and First 5 San Bernardino, is a program designed to help parents develop the necessary skills for raising healthy children.  The program provides resources for emergency housing, food and family counseling. Our bilingual staff, speaking English and Spanish, provides services including information and referrals, family assessments, parent education, family visits, parent support and counseling, interpretation assistance and non-emergency transportation.

Our program assists you and your family with four key elements:

  1. Meeting your family's basic needs, such as food, clothing, shelter and safety.
  2. Ensuring access to medical services, including children's development screening and health insurance enrollment.
  3. Parental support with parenting classes and counseling.
  4. Ensuring adequate nutrition and childhood obesity prevention.
