Well Woman Cancer Detection Program

With a goal to increase access to health care for uninsured women and to detect cancers early, St. Mary Medical Center’s Community Health Department continues to offer its Well Woman Program at stationary clinics in Apple Valley, Adelanto and Hesperia as well as from its Bright Futures mobile van.

Screening exams for breast and cervical cancer are offered at all clinic sites for women without insurance or the ability to pay for services. Our nurse practitioner and certified nurse-midwives provide personal and confidential care. Examinations include a breast exam, pap smear and a referral for a mammogram.

Funded in part by San Bernardino County’s Cancer Detection Program, staff members work together to meet and develop coordinated resources for women’s breast and cervical care in local communities.
