Newsroom Section: In the Media Making a healthy impact: Program teaches ‘Seven Dimensions of Wellness’ to fifth-graders across High Desert 04/26/2018 By Daily Press By Rene Ray De La Cruz Staff Writer APPLE VALLEY — The annual Every Kid Healthy Week began Monday, with schools across the nation creating activities that focus on health and wellness. Valerie Smith, the director of Community Wellness Innovation at St. Joseph Health, St. Mary in Apple Valley, said she’d be delivering a “fun and interactive” wellness program throughout week to several schools. “We’re celebrating Every Kid Healthy Week, but our program is a year-long effort to reach fifth-graders in five school districts across the High Desert,” said Smith, the former director for the Family Center at Yucca Loma School in Apple Valley.
