Respiratory care is a health specialty with medical direction in the treatment,
management, control, diagnostic evaluation and care of patients with deficiencies
and abnormalities within the cardiopulmonary system.
Pulmonary rehabilitation is designed to assist individuals to better live
with their breathing problems, including the reduction and/or cessation
of their breathing struggles, an improvement in exercise and activity
tolerance, and a reduction in the frequency of related illness.
Our services include:
- Diagnostic evaluation, including arterial blood gas analysis, pulmonary
function studies and infant pneumograms
- Therapy, including application and monitoring of medical gases, mechanical
ventilation, artificial airway care, bronchopulmonary hygiene, use of
pharmacological agents related to respiratory care procedures, aerosol
therapy, chest physiotherapy, incentive spirometry, peak flow meter, patient
intubation, bronchoscopy assist, and respiratory consultation and assessment
- Education, including asthma clinic, pulmonary rehabilitation, and general
patient education in reference to disease processes and treatment modalities.
